Duties

Registered Clinical Counsellor

Medilink Consulting Center has an interesting and flexible opportunity for a Registered Clinical Counsellor to join our team of physicians,  nurses including Nurse practitioners on a part time basis. 

We aim to provid affordable counselling. Scheduling can be flexible to accommodate both the Practitionner and the patients.

​

We offer:

  • 3 medical rooms optimized for telehealth and in-person visits

  • A Clinic Manager and MOA staff to support your work

  • Private and extended health billing

  • Supporting nearby team of specialists including 2 Psychiatrists in the same building

  • Nearby  pharmacy with patient focused clinical pharmacists

 List of Duties

  • Mental Health counselling;

  • Provide clinical counselling services to patients;

  • Facilitate change in coping style, behaviour, attitude and feelings;

  • Assist with understanding of illness, and teach coping strategies;

  • Facilitate referral and utilization of appropriate community services/programs/resources;

  • Develop and implement care plans;

  • Maintain appropriate clinical records and data.

Skills

  • Comprehensive knowledge of psychotherapeutic and counselling skills.

  •  ability to apply a variety of theoretical models to practice in assessment and intervention.

  • ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients, colleagues, referral sources, medical personnel, and community agency personnel.

  • ability to conduct a risk assessment and safety plan in collaboration with the client

  • Strong computer literacy to operate a computerized client care information system and word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, Internet and e-mail software.

  • Two clinical or academic references  

  • Proficiency in Punjabi is not an obligation but will give you an edge

Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Clinical Counselling from an accredited university

  • 2 years of relevant work experience preferred

​

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: 

  • Fair fee split depending on experience
