“From Sick Care to Self Care"
ABOUT US

MEDILINK CONSULTING
Redefining Healthcare one Household at a time
At Medilink Consulting, we don’t just treat illness — we empower people to prevent it.
Located in Surrey BC, we are a multidisciplinary health centre founded on a bold idea: that the first and most powerful clinic should be your home.
In an overwhelmed healthcare system where millions are waiting for access, we’re pioneering a new model — one that starts before the doctor, before the prescription, and before the ER...
We call it Pre-Primary Healthcare, and it’s the foundation of everything we do.
Our Leadership
Led by a Visionary Physician with a Holistic Mission, Medilink Consulting was founded by Dr. Jean-Pierre Kabongo, a Family Physician with a unique background in Agriculture, Veterinary Medicine, and Community health.
An immigrant to Canada himself, Dr. Kabongo understands the barriers people face in accessing care — especially newcomers, French-speaking families, and marginalized groups.
After over a decade working inside the Canadian Health System, he saw firsthand how lack of family Physician, over-medicalization, long wait times in ER and to get specialized services, and disempowerment were failing both patients and practitioners. That’s why he developed the HOMESTEADICATION Movement — a health philosophy that blends modern medicine with simple, evidence-based self-care practices rooted in lifestyle and nature.
Our Core Belief
We believe that:
-
Your home should be your first clinic
-
Your kitchen should be your first pharmacy
-
Your food should be your first medication
This is not just a slogan — it's how we design our care, our teaching, and our tools.
From routine family medicine to prevention-focused programs, our team works to bridge the gap between clinical care and everyday living, offering personalized support that empowers people to take charge of their health journey.
What Makes Medilink Different
-
A bilingual English-French, multicultural clinic that serves a diverse community
-
A training site accredited by the University of British Columbia for medical students and residents
-
A centre for health education, empowerment, and innovation
-
The launchpad of the HOMESTEADICATION Movement, now reaching Canadians and the world through public talks, media, and community outreach
Our Promise to You
We’re not here to replace the healthcare system — we’re here to strengthen your role within it.
Whether you're here for a check-up, a diagnosis, or a deeper understanding of your own body and mind, you’ll find more than a medical office — you’ll find a partner in your pursuit of long-term vitality and self-determined health.

"Make America Healthy Again": U.S. Food Reform, Chemical Bans, and What Canada Can Learn
By Dr. Jean-Pierre Kabongo, MD | June 2025
A bold public health revolution is quietly reshaping America’s food system—one banned chemical at a time. Under the leadership of U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the “Make America Healthy Again” campaign is targeting the deep roots of chronic disease: the ultra-processed, artificially colored, and chemically sweetened foods saturating the American diet.

Understanding Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) in Children
By Dr. Jean-Pierre Kabongo, MD | June 2025
What Is Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA)?
Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) in children is a condition where a child's breathing repeatedly stops or becomes very shallow during sleep. This happens because the muscles and tissues in the throat relax too much and block airflow. These interruptions disturb the child's sleep and reduce oxygen levels in the body.

Homesteadication: new paradigm shift from sick care to healthcare
By Dr. Jean-Pierre Kabongo, MD | May 2025
As a Family Physician practicing in Canada for over 14 years, I’ve witnessed a profound shift in how we approach health.
More and more, I see patients—and even entire healthcare systems—relying heavily on medications while overlooking the basic, vital elements of wellness: nutrition, movement, sleep, community, and life purpose.
